Light pencil sketch of Higham Church, Suffolk, large tree to the right. Undated, but assumed to be an early work. Initialled "I.C." within the image in pencil lower left, in a hand unlikely to be Constable's. Also annotated by John Platt on recto in pencil with the title, "By John Constable R.A." and "Signed 'I.C.' by John Constable". Verso annotated in an unknown hand in pencil "By J. Constable R. A., from the Collection of Eustace Constable, the painter's grandson".
